One Eleven Bar & Kitchen: A New Chapter on Washington Street

This week, we had the chance to sit down with Victoria Pittman, the Business Development Manager and Marketing Director with Power Brands Hospitality Group. The new addition to the dining scene is already making waves. One Eleven, located in the heart of downtown Huntsville, offers an experience that blends upscale dining with Southern hospitality. The restaurant accepts both reservations and walk-ins. Customers have been surprised by the unique food options and the space itself. Since its opening, the restaurant has garnered glowing reviews, a steady stream of customers, and a strong social media presence. “It’s like we started a trend,” said Victoria, who has been with the project since the beginning.

What’s Behind the Space?

The space that now houses One Eleven was initially under renovation by the owners of The Nook. When they decided to go in a different direction, our team was able to make it our own. A mix of rustic-industrial charm and modern elegance defines the interior. Certain original elements such as the woodwork were preserved to keep the rustic feel, while new touches like chandeliers and greenery added an upscale yet cozy feel. Inspired in part by Restoration Hardware in Nashville, the final result is both unique and inviting. Victoria remarks about the atmosphere:

“It has a feeling of grandeur. While it is closer to fine dining, it is more approachable. It’s very welcoming for friends and doesn’t feel stiff. You can dress up and have incredible service and incredible drinks, but you don’t need to pretend to be something you’re not.”

What’s on the Menu?

Led by New York chef Pat Trama, One Eleven offers a chef-driven menu rooted in American cuisine with Italian and seafood highlights. The emphasis is dishes that are often a staple but memorable in quality. They host a range of grilled seafood and meat options. One dish that stands out is their lentil salad, which is a hearty vegetarian option that holds its own like any protein-packed plate.

Victoria notes: “It is not frivolous or showy but the menu is high quality well loved meals that are executed to a high standard.”

The Crowd and Service

Where things get theatrical is the cocktail menu. From drinks that use dry ice or smoke bubbles to those steeped at the table or even lit on fire, each is crafted to be as visually engaging as it is delicious.

One Eleven welcomes any demographic, the restaurant has particularly caught the attention of young professionals as a meeting place.

The service is hands-on and thoughtful. The goal, according to Victoria, is “to meet needs before customers even realize what they need.” The vibe is elevated but relaxed, making it just as fitting for date nights as it is for girls’ night or a solo cocktail at the bar. A growing live music schedule will add even more incentive to keep coming back.

The Story Behind the Building

The building that now houses One Eleven is steeped in local history. Most recently it was home to The Heritage Club, and before that, the Ritz Café, a Huntsville institution that operated for over 40 years. Originally located at 108 Washington Street, the building’s address changed to 111 after the street numbers flipped, a nod reflected in the restaurant’s name. These historical layers are acknowledged in the decor.

Looking Ahead

Even with a successful launch behind them, the team at One Eleven isn’t slowing down. Plans are already underway to expand their live music offerings to three or four nights a week, a weekend brunch, as well as, late-night bites will be offered in the future. Seasonal ingredients will continue to shape new menu items, keeping things fresh and inviting for return visitors. Whether you're making a reservation or stopping by as a walk-in, One Eleven aims to be more than just a meal. It is the full experience.
