In 2023, the DHI team was committed to revamping our signature events so that they continued to draw crowds of patrons that help support downtown establishments. Because of the improvements we made, attendance increased significantly at each event. DHI is excited to continue bringing impactful events to downtown in 2024, and we would love your partnership as we do so. Event sponsorship is one way to become involved with our organization and help leave a positive mark on the community.

Annual Meeting

Downtown Huntsville, Inc. hosts its Annual Meeting at the beginning of each year to reflect on the past year’s accomplishments and to recognize important businesses and projects in downtown. The program features various presentations, guest speakers, and an award ceremony for the Downtown Awards.

Downtown Art Walks

Downtown Art Walks are events designed to showcase Huntsville’s creative and maker industry. Each event provides an opportunity for local artisans to bring their products to market with minimal expense and commitment. In addition, Art Walks provide an inclusive opportunity for people to gather and enjoy downtown.

Downtown Lunch Lounge

The Downtown Lunch Lounge is a placemaking initiative focused on creating gathering areas in select locations with the goal of attracting downtown employees to areas near restaurant nodes. The lounge is activated with bistro sets, yard games, and live music to provide a unique and personality-filled lunch experience.

 

Downtown Open

The Downtown Open is a free, 10-day event that features a miniature golf course with 18 unique holes designed by local businesses and organizations. The golf course is set up around the Courthouse Square, and the public can enjoy the course anytime with friends and family.

Food Truck Rallies

Food Truck Rallies are among the most popular DHI events and have become a community staple. The rallies feature a variety of food trucks and trailers located around Big Spring Park. DHI collaborates with partners to provide various entertainment options, such as live music, art displays, and games for all ages to enjoy.

Movies in the Park

Movies in the Park is an event that provides a free movie night for all ages to enjoy. The event happens every Friday in October and follows a Halloween/Fall theme for the movies and activities. The showing starts at sunset, but live music and food trucks are booked each night for the audience to enjoy entertainment beforehand.

 

Tinsel Trail

Tinsel Trail is the biggest Downtown Huntsville, Inc. event of the year. The Trail is a Huntsville tradition and is a major draw for visitors. Tinsel Trail consists of over 440 trees that are uniquely decorated by a variety of Huntsville businesses, organizations, and families. The event kicks off with a lighting ceremony for the Mayor’s Tree and a Black Friday Market, which features over 60 local vendors. Tinsel Trail was voted Best Festival by EVENT Magazine.
