It’s Tinsel Trail Time

If you’ve walked through Big Spring Park East in the last week, you’ve noticed something special has started—Tinsel Trail preparations!  With the picket fencing being installed, the beginning of a Huntsville holiday tradition is well underway. Soon, 300 trees will be delivered, installed, and selected by our fantastic tree sponsors.

While we appreciate all of our tree sponsors, before a single tree is decorated, our amazing Tinsel Trail partners help make this joyous event happen.  Quite simply, without our friends at the City of Huntsville, Tinsel Trail wouldn’t be possible each year. An especially big thanks goes to the City’s Parks & Recreation Department for their long-standing partnership for Tinsel Trail each year.

Big Spring Park is one of our City’s signature parks, so it only makes sense to have one of our City’s signature Christmas season events featured in the beauty that is Big Spring Park East. These types of public-private partnerships allow Tinsel Trail to be completely free to attend each and every year. Whether you’re a one-time guest to Huntsville or have lived here for years, Tinsel Trail is free and open to enjoy every day starting with the traditional Grand Opening on Black Friday (November 23rd this year at 6:30pm) because of this partnership between DHI and the City.

In addition to the amazing work by the City’s Parks & Recreation team, we have many other partners who come together each year to make Tinsel Trail a holiday tradition.  So, since Tinsel Trail kicks off every year on Thanksgiving weekend, we thought we’d share all of the Tinsel Trail partners we’re thankful for in addition to our friends at the City.

This year, we’re thankful for…

Jerry Damson Automotive Group for their Presenting Sponsorship which drives the success of Tinsel Trail

Pro Electric for installing the power infrastructure that brightens the night each evening at Tinsel Trail

Huntsville Utilities for the educational experience of their “Brightest Tree on the Trail” which shows us how power conservation and beautiful holiday lights go together so well

WLRH for bringing commercial-free holiday music to Tinsel Trail and all the smiles and happiness that goes with it

RCP Companies and CityCentre at Big Spring for sponsoring the 2nd Annual Tinsel Trail Trot which is the happiest one mile run of the holiday season (and you can still register here)

Spur for sponsoring the many helpful hands it takes to build the trail

Move Digital for leading the amazing promotional efforts that allowed us to sell out of all 300 trees earlier than ever this year

Huntsville Coca-Cola for sponsoring the Mayor’s Christmas tree—the centerpiece to our beautiful trail of trees

As you can see, Tinsel Trail is truly a team effort.  The ability to keep this a free event each year and a beautiful Christmas season tradition takes the work of hundreds of Huntsville area individuals and companies.

As we head into the Thanksgiving holiday, the entire DHI team is thankful for you!
